Hello,

Thanks for writing to HealthCareMagic, I am Dr Muhammd Ahmad, I have closely read your question and I understand your concerns, I will hereby guide you regarding your health related problem.

After a prolonges cough the lung coverings called pleura are inflamed and they cause strong piercing pains in chest this is very common and with time it will get better. In my opinion too its same as your doctor said, you should not worry just give your body time to recover. You can take tylenol or ibuprofen for pain this will also help with inflammation. As cough has got better so pain too is expected to get well soon.

I hope this answered your question, if you have more feel free to ask, otherwise close the discussion and rate it.

Regards.
