What Causes Severe Pain Under The Rib Cage After A Meal?
I have dull nagging pain under my rib cage every time I eat. It has been going on for a week. My stools were green for a few days Which is unusual for me. In started a bland diet a few days ago, but pain has not gone away, plus now I have not had a bowel movement for two days which is also not normal. Any thoughts? Also I should say I am an American, but living in China in INner Mongolia.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to cholecystitis or gallbladder stones. An ultrasound examination will be helpful to rule out the condition. If it is causingconticontinuous trouble then gall bladder can be removed by laparoscopic surgery. Proton pump inhibitors like esomeprazole will be helpful to get relief from the symptoms some what.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
