What Causes Severe Pain While Laughing Or Sneezing After An Appendectomy?

I had an appendectomy about 4 weeks ago, i cannot laugh or sneeze without feeling like i am tearing the inside of my insicion. I felt completely better about a week ago and now all of a sudden i have a ton of pain. Like my healing process just took 3 steps back. My pain feels like it did 3 day after surgery.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is quite common after a major abdominal surgery, possibly due to healing process in the abdominal wall.

Nothing much to worry and it will settle by itself. If symptoms persists you can go for an ultrasound abdomen to look for any collection or other pathologies.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
