Hello,
You are suffering from
severe pain, bruise and swelling of foot. Any physical damage to the veins and capillaries may cause the blood to pool in the damaged area and create a bluish-purple discoloration. You can apply ointment Thrombophob on the affected area so that any blood clot on the affected area can disperse and inflammation gets reduced.
You should get clinically examined by an orthopedist, get X-ray and if required MRI done to get a detailed study. Pain, swelling, tenderness on the outside of the foot is indicative of
Jones fracture which can be a
stress fracture or there can also be a sudden break of the bone due to trauma.
It causes difficulty in walking, constant foot pain, pain in one foot, foot bruise,
foot injury. Give rest to your foot, apply ice for relieve, keep your foot up (elevated), and take Naproxen or
Combiflam, one SOS when needed. You may require a crepe bandage in case of tendon or ligament tear, get assessed and treated at the earliest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
