What Causes Severe Pressure In The Left Ear?

I have been ill for about a month - a lot of pressure in my left ear and sinuses. The dr gave me a course of prednisone (10 days), but I am no better. So the dr gave me erythromycin. I have been taking it for 2 days and feel so much worse. I have pain high in my stomach and am nauseous. I took my bp and it is 139/74. my normal bp is 110/60. Should I be worried?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
* Your ear & sinus are connected with each other. .. so any inflammation or infection of sinus is conducted to ear also.
The problem usually treated with saline drops nasal drops & decongestant& anti allergic medicine combination, to relieve the symptoms. But in case there is no effect with this he will have to add antibiotic.
*If antibiotic is taken on an empty stomach... it produces hyper acidity& pain, nausea, sometimes vomiting . You should take it after food & along with antacid like Histac 150 mg to avoid such effect.
* The rise of blood pressure ( upper level ) rise is due to anxiety- tension.
You should see your ENT doctor & take his advise for dosage & brand of drugs advised.
Thanks.
