Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I exercise regurarly and eat right yet I seem to suffer from moderate to severe restless leg syndrome. I have tried all kinds of natural remedys but nothing gives me relief. I sometimes go days.without sleep because of it. Out of accident I happened to take one of my boyfriends pain pills and it worked!!!! I was able to get relief. My delema is is that all the doctors I go to either don t believe me because my bloodwork is perfect and I am in great shape. What can I do to get a doctor to believe me????? And hoe would I tell them that the only relief I have ever gotten has been from a pain pill without seeming like a kinky that is just looking for pills??? Age 32 weight 110lbs, female
There are many treatment options for restless leg syndrome, including levodopa, ropinirole, miramexine, pregabaline and gabapentin. But, first it is necessary checking blood electrolytes, iron plasma levels and thyroid hormone levels in order to exclude possible metabolic disorders, which can trigger this clinical situation. I would also recommend performing nerve conduction studies in order to exclude possible peripheral neuropathy or a pinched nerve.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
