My floating ribs on both sides are extremely sore to the touch. Never happen before. Was having a massage and nearly went thru the roof when we found the first spot. Upon checking the other side we got same reaction. Very sharp pain that brought tears to my eyes. Massuse is concerned and wondered if my kidneys could be causing this. km

Doctor may fix if there is any fracture and ask you to restrict your movements for few days . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant along with anti inflammatory and multivitamin for quick recovery . Doctor may also refer you to chest specialist . Aplly warm compresses on rib cage and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain.
