What Causes Severe Stomach Pain After Eating?
Dr. Rynne, A little background: Had a gastric bypass about 10 years ago. Have not had any problems related to the surgery and have been able to keep the extra weight off. A few months ago, I noticed that almost immediately after eating, my stomach started to hurt and I had the urge to have a bowel movement. At this point, every time I eat, I need to go to the bathroom. I have very small stools (in diameter). I m wondering if you could help me? Thanks! Jeanne

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe stomach pain after eating which can occur due to many reasons like gastroenteritis , intestinal ileus, food poisoning , irritable bowel syndrome , lactose intolerance. Need not to worry. Avoid intake of outside and hot and spicy foods. Take diet rich in probiotics. I would advise you to consult general physician once and get complete examination done like complete blood count, stool examination, ultrasound scan of abdomen, colonoscopy & contrast studies. Avoid intake of sharp spicy and oily food. You should start treatment after complete examination. Doctor may prescribe you traditional drugs like lactulose, milk of magnesia and cremaffin or bisacodyl tablets. Tke ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain.
