What Causes Severe Stomach Pain And Diarrhea While On Indomethacin And Multaq?

Taking indomethacin 50mg tid. for Pleurisy. While it has removed the lung pain and I am breathing normally, I am having severe stomach pain and diarrhea. I have only been taking it for 2 days and I am eating with the medication. I am also on Multaq fo Afib.

Hi and Welcome to Ask A Doctor service. I have read your question and here is my advice.
indomethacin is quite effective for pain relief howe'ver it also can cause the side effects you mentioned. Stomach pain is quite common with this drug .I would suggest you better stop it and instead use paracetamol if the pain can be relieved.Other wise you must use some antacids like lnsoprzole once a day with it.if you need to continue .
