What Causes Severe Stomach Pain, Belching And Fatigue?

A healthy 64 year old female not on any medication.i began experiencing severe stomach pain like cramps in the area right below my sternum, followed by belching, and fatigue. Also ran an intermittent low grade fever, and headache. Bowels continue normal, no nausea or vomiting.Now in the second week I have some remission of the acute pain, have lost 6 lbs, and continue with some stomach discomfort and excessive belching, and some gas.Also experienced tenderness in the abdomen. I do not have an appendix.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe stomach pain, belching and fatigue. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like consuming foods known to cause gas in some people, such as milk products and beans, inadequate fibres in diet, crohn’s disease , gastroenteritis intestinal obstruction , irritable bowel syndrome and urinary tract infection . I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may order ultrasound , endoscopy , CT scan and examine physically . Doctor may prescribe omeprazole ,laxative , antacid , antibiotics like ornidazole and anti viral drug . Doctor may recommend for surgery in case of appendicitis or refer you to urologist for UTI . For now take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain , eat light and no spicy and take light walk daily .
