What Causes Severe Stomachache After Taking Victoza?
Hi my name is Cindy, I stated Victoza two weeks ago first week .06 i am on 2nd week of 1.2 i am 5 days doing this and ended up with a real bad stomach ache today. It has lasted from 6:00 p.m. until now. I feel like I am going to get sick but don t. Is this anything to worry about.
Victoza (Liraglutide) is a GLP-1 analog used to treat type 2 diabetes. Sometimes, its use is associated with pancreatitis which is clinically expressed by severe stomach ache radiating to the back.
Your bad stomach ache you felt today should be further investigated in order to rule out this bad side effect.
Acute gastroenteritis or even gastritis should be also considered. So, I highly recommend to consult with gastrohepatologist first in order to rule out these diagnosis and determine the right one.
Hope this helps.
