Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Severe Swelling Along With Sores On The Bottom Lip?
What could be the reason for the bottom lip to swell more than 3 times the size with no relief from antibiotics steriods or pain meds it has some sores that have appeared like burns the swelling has gotten worse over the past 3 days I'm having no relief from anything
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain severe swelling of bottom lip that is not getting relieved seems to be due to allergic reaction to some unknown allergen and due to it there is occurrence of Allergic Angioedema of lip..
I would suggest you to consult an Allergist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
As of now you can start taking antihistamines like Allegra or Benadryl.. You can do cool compresses over the lips.. In case if irritation and pain apply steroid ointment over lips.. Avoid licking or sucking the lips.. Apply petroleum jelly for lubrication..
Hope this information helps..
Regards..
