What Causes Severe Swelling In Leg When Suffering From Parkinson S Disease?
My brother is 59 years old. He was diagnosed with Parkinson s disease about a year ago. A couple of months ago he started experiencing bad swelling in his right leg. His Dr sent him for a Doppler ultrasound (not sure about the name) which showed no blood clots or artery blockages. What else could be causing this?
Hello Thank you for writing to us on Health care Magic. Based on your history the response to your question is as follows. 1 Dependent edema in the leg and only on one side could be due to obstruction. 2. As there is no blockages, limb elevation in lying down position above level of heart could be helpful. 3. Hypertension, needs to be in control. Diuretics can be used for reducing edema. Hope this is helpful to you. Do write back to me for further questions. Thank you
