What Causes Severe Swelling In The Knees After Draining A Baker S Cyst?

My mom had a bakers cyst drained yesterday and they said it wasn t that big didn t get a lot for fluid out the whole front and back of knee very swollen that she couldn t stand . Now the Acevedo bandage a day later is wet tonite I checked and water is draining out is this normal.

Hello,

She may be draining of fluid still lead to wetting of dressing. Swelling of knee joint means it is infected or collection of fluid.

Also, rule out septic arthritis. Elevate the limb use cold and warm compression, use tablet naprosyn twice a day for five days.

If symptoms not improved please consult your orthopedician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
