What Causes Severe Swelling On The Calves?

My friend s calves swell, tremendously, often. They are quite swollen right now. When she presses her finger into them, it leaves an indention that stays for at least a few seconds. Also, they have a bit of redness tint to them. I m very worried about her, and the drs at the hospital around here, aren t helping.

well is your friend diabetic? There could be many reasons for swelling of the calf muscles but if there is identation when she presses it and if red I would suspect infection of the subcutaneous tissue. It can also help to know more about your friend s medical history like if.there is any cardiac issue or high blood pressure. Because even water can be accumulated in a similar way
