What Causes Severe Swelling On The Feet?

What does it mean if your feet swell up more than they should be able to and it causing lots of bruising in the feet ankles and everywhere else swelling occurs? And swelling never goes away. My mother is diabetic and I m not sure why her feet look this bad she is diabetic and was diagnosed with congestive heart failure a year ago and has been taking care of things since then and she continues to have her diabetic poker thing say she s up in the 300 s for her sugar. I m very concerned and it seems like the doctors don t know what to do about it .

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think that the swelling if the frets may come from the congestive heart failure that the blood collects in the periphery. As for the glycemia 300 is too much, consult it with an endocrinologist. What medications does your mother get for heart and diabetes? Also, make a check to the cardiologist to evaluate the recent situation of your mother.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Emilda Belortaja
