What Causes Severe Swelling On The Legs And Feet?

Hi! I am an obese, 62 year old woman, use power wheelchair outside my apartment - inside home use quad cane and walker. I have CHF, COPD, history of kidney stones, arthritis, etc. My feet and legs, particularly the left, have become extremely swollen over the past 18 months. This week the swelling extends from my groin down to my toes - cramping in the toes. Skin has become pulled so tight. I am afraid. Never mind, I am on SSDI and do not have the money, sorry, I didn t realize this was such a service.

Considering you are not very mobile, you need to have a leg clot ruled out with an ultrasound especially if left is more swollen than the right. the swelling could be from being seated to long and poor circulation but if one leg is more swollen than the other then a DVT (clot) is the first thing that comes to mind.
