What Causes Severe Temple Pain Radiating Behind The Ear?

About a month ago I started having pain in my right temple , eye and area of eye up and back towards behind my ear . Blurry vision soon appeared and now is worse...to the point that I can hardly see out of my right eye. I had a Tempral Biopsy and it was neg . I was on Predisone 20 mg 3 times a day for 3 days, then 20mg twice a day for 3 day and then 20 mg once a day for three days. when I took the lager dose, I felt better . The biopsy was neg. and my vascular surgeon said to get ahold of my family doctor, who said call an eye doctor !! Meanwhile the areas I mentioned have stayed swollen and tender and vision seems worse....mild headache. I have a history of Hystoplasmotis and a brain steam stroke .

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be due to a tension headache or migraine attack. As a first line management, you can take analgesics like Aceclofenac or Tramadol for pain relief.

If symptoms persist, better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
