What Causes Severe Throat Pain After Eating Hot Food And Insomnia?

Severe pain after eating hot food. Can't sleep. Have I burnt my esophagus?

Today, I ate a very hot food, I literally knelt over in pain as it went down my throat and took water immediately. But am still having epigastric pain, not while swallowing saliva, but when eating foods. I also have the sensation to belch, which also hurts and radiates to my ears. Could I have burnt my esophagus and what can I do to help with the pain? Still feel the pain even when I'm not eating

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you have burnt your lining f the oesophagus or food pipe due to heating very hot food and as it went down the food pipe it kept on burning it and causing ulceration..

It has led to inflammation causing burning and pain..

I would suggest you to take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, take sucralfate as it will provide protective lining to the wounds and ease the pain..
Drink plenty of cool water to reduce inflammation..
Take a soft and bland diet..
