What Causes Severe Throat Pain And Bumps At The Back Of The Throat?

I'm a 19 year old female, started having throat pains beginning of september. I went to see a doctor after the first couple days because the pain caused me to be unable to swallow food. The doctor gave me some cough drops but i keep having the pain, though much less severe now. Also I have those little bumps at the back of my throat, I would like to attach a picture, if possible.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that the symptoms of severe pain in throat along with little bumps in throat seems to be due to Granular Pharyngitis.

It can be due to bacterial or viral throat infection..

I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Throat swab culture can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..

You can be advised:
-Antibiotics like Augmentin OR Azithromycin to resolve the infection..
-Anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen can be taken to relive pain. -----Doing warm saline gargles, steam inhalation and using a humidifier in your room can be very much relieving.
-You can also suck throat lozenges to soothe the throat..
-Gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine..
-Gargle with antiseptic solution like few drops of betadine in water..
-Chew Vitamin C pellets to boost up the immunity..
