Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have been having severe tooth pain since the past 4 days or so. Dentists have told me in the past I needed to get my wisdom teeth removed but still havent done so. Yesterday I started having nosebleed (which had never happened before) and it happened again today... SHould I be worried?
As per your query if you have severe pain in tooth that is associated with nasal bleeding then it can be due to perforation of the nasal floor that is commonly caused due to dental abscess.. In case if pain is in wisdom tooth then it can invade sinus floor leading to inflammation of sinuses leading to nasal bleeding..
At times it needs not to be necessarily associated with toothache and can be due to traumatic injury to Little's area present inside nose that contains a large meshwork of blood vessels.. Other causes can be high blood pressure..
Consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigation like x ray will help in confirmation of the cause and treatment can be done accordingly.. If it is related to tooth then treatment of tooth by either Root Canal Treatment or extraction can help..
As of now to stop bleeding from nose you should bend a bit forward and pinch your nostrils gently for ten minutes..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
