What Causes Severe Upper Abdominal Pain While Breathing?

Hi I just saw a gastroenterologist because I am having severe pain in upper abdomen when breathing in, and also when I eat or drink. The doc says it is likely gastroenteritis. My concern is that its either my heart because my blood pressure is high, 164/110, or that it may be pancreatitis since symptoms seem to fit, This pain I m having is underneath my left ribcage close to heart and is made worse with movement, inhaling deeply, and eating or drinking. I did not receive any medication for pain or viral infection. Do you think I should consult another doctor. I am a 26 yr old male btw.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

You should visit a doctor. He will go for USG, chest x-ray and blood tests like CBC, amylase, lipase and ECG. Your BP is high for your age, visit cardiologist who will go for workup like echo and renal Doppler and thyroid test and will start anti-hypertensives.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ajeet Singh,
