Hello Welcome to HCM, thanks for posting your query.
I read your question and have understood it well.
Being a surgeon, we come across many such cases where post
cholecystectomy such problems arises.
I suggest you not to worry.
Can I know, when did you undergo surgery?
Usually for 6 months to one year, you will have mild pain and discomfort. Especially when you eat oily foods.
But, it should settle down most of the times.
If pain is severe and intolerable then better to get an upper Gi
endoscopy.
This will tell us if there are any ulcers in the stomach,
Duodenum.
So I suggest you few things,
1. Do not worry, it's not an uncommon problem.
2. Drink lot of water and avoid hot food.
3. You can take tablet,
pantoprazole 40mg once a day before breakfast for 10 to 15 days and see the response.
4. If you are consuming alcohol, I suggest you to stop it. Bcos it may cause
pancreatitis which is what you should worry for.
And regarding your weight gain. Please put a brake, it's absolutely detrimental to gain weight.
Drink lots of water.
Avoid meat and high energy foods
Work out, atleast 5 days a week for 45mins.
All these should help you.
In case you need any further clarification, then you can get back to me or HCM. We'll take care.
