What Causes Severe Vaginal Burning And Itching Sensation Inspite Of Taking Monistat1?
I thought I was treating a minor yeast infection and took Monistat 1. Since about 6 pm yesterday evening I have been suffering with extreme burning and itching that seems to be worse and in more areas than before I took the medicine? I called my Dr s hotline and was told to make an appt at 9am. I don t know if I can take the discomfort...should I go to the ER?
The burning an itching can be related to many type of infections such as a bacterial or yeast infection. A swab test and a urine test is necessary to confirm the diagnosis. Meanwhile, I suggest to use an antibiotics which can lower the itching. Soaking in cool water can also relieve the itching.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
