What Causes Severe Vaginal Pain During Intercourse?

when having sex i have very sharp pains, it feels as if i am being stabbed, it only hurts during intercourse and for a few minutes after. it has been like this for about two and a half weeks. no abnormal discharge or anything. the pain is so bad that i cant continue after only 10-20 seconds of sex. any idea what it could be?

This can be caused by vaginal uterus or ovarian isues. Dry vagina or polyps and miomas on uterus are most common cause and lubricant should be used in future. Ovarian cysts and endometriosis are further causes which should be ruled out with ultrasound examination,transvaginally.
