What Causes Severe Vertigo Along With Nausea And Dry Heaves?

My husband started experiencing vertigo last night around 8:00 p.m. He has had this occur many times in the past and the doctor said it could be a problem with middle ear. What concerns me this time is he has been vomiting since early morning. He has nothing to vomit, just the nausea and dry heaves. No fever. No headache.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
vertigo with giddiness and vomiting main reasons are middle ear disturbances or migraine. There is a test by name Dix- Hallpike test to detect benign paroxysmal positional vertigo.Consult neurologist for that.If it comes negative then go for brain scan.Is he a hypertensive? Just check for that and rule out any clots or pblm in brain.U can start with betavert 8 mg twice a day.If it's not coming down increase the dosage to 16 mg twice a day for 15 days.Hope it may help u.
