What Causes Severe Vertigo Along With Nausea And Vomiting?

I had an episode today. I woke up and the room was spamming. Also felt nauseous and did throw up water. I was unsteady on my feet. I am 75 and take no medications. My daughter who lives nearby woke up during the night and felt like her throat was close and she could not breath. We had dinner last nite consisting of pasta diced tomato sauce and saluted cabbage. come to find out the cabbage was refrigerated but was about one month old. Could we both have had an allergic reaction but different symptoms

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe vertigo along with nausea and vomiting which could occur due to middle ear infection , some kind of growth in middle ear or fluid in middle ear, inflammation within the inner ear and acoustic neuroma. You should not ignore this . For now take proper rest , do not bend forward and do light exercise. Take green tea with ginger thrice a day and do meditation and yoga . You should start with antibiotics, steroids and labrynthine sedatives for 6 to 8 weeks following vestibular rehabilitation exercises. All this needs clinical evaluation and medical assistance. Consult with your ENT specialist and get evaluated. Doctor may order audiometry test and tuning fork test and treat it accordingly .
