Hi Joyaa,
I'm sorry if you were directing your question at a Dr. Andrew but your question seemed to have been posted into the general public forums. With this system, it would be close to impossible for him to find your question here, so I thought that I would try to help.
1. No,
Nasonex does not usually cause a hoarse voice as a side effect. Having said that, Nasonex does contain a
steroid, which typically reduces the ability to fight off an infection. So it might have flared up a throat and vocal cord infection that you already had, if you weren't receiving treatment for that at the same time. Or if your
sinusitis seems to be worsening at the same time, then maybe that has caused the back drip to irritate the vocal cords.
2. Yes and no, because it depends on the cause of the
hoarseness of voice. If it lasts longer than a typical
cold would, I wouldn't leave it as be without knowing the cause, because it may be a sign of something else going on, like reflux, or even tumours.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Dr. Teh
