What Causes Severe Vomiting, Fever And Redness In The Eyes In A Child?

My son is seven years old. He was up all night last night vomitting. This morning his woke up with a fever and his eyes have become increasingly bloodshot throughout the day, though there is no discharge or swelling so I m not concerned about a sinus infection. Should I be concerned, or treat it as a stomach virus?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to the health care magic

According to history it could be presentation of viral gastroenteritis infection like condition...

For vomiting ondensteron syrup might prescribed..

Maintain his hydration with drinking lots of water and fruit juice

Give him small meals with frequent interval to maintain energy

Excess spicy and fried food restricted

If condition not improves than treatment for bacterial gastroenteritis done with antibiotic and further work up needed with USG abdomen

Take care

Consult pediatrician for examination with keeping all this in mind
