What Causes Severe Weakness In The Hips And Thighs?

Hip/thigh just gives way when I am walking---I ve nearly fallen a few times. I hold onto stair railings with both hands to go up or down as I never know when it will happen. There is no pain. I had an MRI 4 years ago and it said I had avascular necrosis of the femoral heads, but my doctors told me everything was Ok and there was nothing to be done. It has gotten much worse. What do think it is and can anything be done?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

If you are aged, and oral intake is decreased, that weakness is may be due to muscular and other comorbidities as you mention. Your hemoglobin level should be checked that also cause fatigue.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhadresh Lakhani
