Hello,
The
dizziness and headache, interfering with the daily and routine activities indicate very low level of
hemoglobin and
hematocrit as there may be severe loss of blood volume during the time of delivery and the same depth must not be replaced till this time. My guidelines at present:
- Get a complete hemogram report of her blood with nearest microbiologist or pathologist
- Allow her high iron diet with green leafy veg, cereals, pulses, legumes, jaggery on regular basis
- Depending upon the therapeutic level of the Hb, I suggest:
If the
anemia is of mild degree - oral formulations of Ferric salt or Fumerous sulfate as tablet, syrup or capsule
If the anemia is of moderate degree - intravenous iron sucrose preparations, raise the Hb faster way
If the anemia is very severe - transfusion of packed red cells or whole blood is best recommended.
However, you are requested to provide your lab report during follow up discussion for better guidelines.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
