What Causes Shallow Breathing And Stiffness In The Neck While On Ambien?
I have been taking Ambien to help sleep. I don t take it every night but I have been having symptoms of shallow breathing, feels like a stiff neck, headache and my bottom lip throbs (like an eye twitch). I am 61. I have a low thyroid and am on medicine for that but that is all I take. I don t know if this is related to Ambien, anxiety or low iron. Thank you.

Shallow breathing is more likely to be related to anxiety than Ambien use or low iron.
Behaviour therapy is a good treatment possibility for anxiety.
Anxiolytic drugs also may be necessary. Discuss with a Psychologist for these issues.
