hi had Pneumonia two years ago full blown that nearly killed me now last month i got diagnosed with the onset of Pneumonia got antibio tabs then felt fine again but this weekend i took myself to a&e as i had sharp pain in chest and the usual ecg bloods xray got given antibiotics again but they have found something on my left lung and i need to go back for a urgent xray agen tomorrow please tell me what this cud be if poss
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic. I can understand your concern. In my opinion, you are mostly having recurrence of pneumonia. Pneumonia likely to recur in same part of lung. You were improved with pneumonia and again develop chest pain. Your current chest x ray is also suggestive of lesion. So this lesion is mostly due to recurrent pneumonia. And treatment in such case should be directed on causative organism. So you may need sputum culture and sensitivity report. If sputum is not available then Bronchoscopy with BAL (bronchoalveolar lavage) analysis is needed. Culture report will isolate the causative organism and sensitivity report will guide about effective antibiotic treatment. Don't worry, you will be alright.
