What Causes Sharp Chest Pain Post Intense Exercising?
I worked out chest with a heavy weight , came home and three hours later made some small move that caused severe pain in user arm made more severe with movement. The pain is sharp with movement but dull ache otherwise. Can t find comfortable position. Unresponsive to pain meds
Hello and welcome to HCM, A chest pain radiating to arm is suspected to be cardiac in origin until proven otherwise. Chest pain after vigorous exercise raises the possibility of angina. I suggest you to consult a cardiologist at the earliest. A clinical assessment of cardiovascular system along with investigations like ECG, echocardiography, holter, stress test are required to look for any abnormality of the cardiovascular system. In case no abnormality is detected in cardiovascular system, other possibilities of chest pain i.e. musculoskeletal disorder, respiratory disorder needs to be looked for.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
