What Causes Sharp Electrical Feeling Pain In Chest And Shoulder After Laughing Hard?

After laughing hard today....had electric feeling across chest into shoulders that lasted for around 30 seconds to maybe a minute....felt a little strange but then ok. This has happened in the past after a hard cough. I m 42, overweight, reflux.....but no high bp or any other notable issues.

Hi,

To rule out severity chest X-ray and ECG is recommended! After GERD it can also possible! Take proper treatment of reflux also! You may learn breathing exercise along with medicines it will help in reflux many times as seen in patients with similar history.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sunny Madar, General & Family Physician
