Hi,I am Raju.A.T (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Sharp Left Sided Temple Pain And Eyelid Twitch?
For the past year, I have been experiencing headaches located behind my eyes and/or laterally on the skull (near temples). They have been getting more frequent and seem to be more painful. Now, I am experiencing a shooting pain occasionally (over the last week or so) in my left temple, which is quite debilitating. Today was the first time my eyelids started twitching as well. For the last hour, my eyelids have been twitching on and off coupled by the shooting pain in my left temple. I am under a ton of anxiety and stress with my relationship and am wondering if this could be the underlying cause, or is it possibly something more serious? Thank you in advance for any guidance or advice.
Tension type headache can be the cause of this discomfort but the amount of pain you describes need to be worked up. Temporal arterits can be one possibility. I would recommend you to take over the counter analgesics and try to relax yourself a bit. If the pain is still not settling then consult your doctor as soon as possible.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
