What Causes Sharp Lower Abdominal Pain And Nausea After Having Intercourse?

Hello good day, my period is due in 4 days.ive been trying to conceive for a year now. I had sex 1 the day before ovulation, on my ovulation day, and the they after ovulation. I been experiencing tingly sensation in my breast for the past days and a tingly sensation in my lower abdomen its happening frenquently today i felt the same sharp pain. But it never lasts long it stays for seconds and then goes. I also feeling a slight period like cramp but its not so strong just feeling it a little. I feel a little week. And a bit nauseous never does vomit though.. i would like to know if i could be pregnant please. Thanks so much.

Hallow Dear,

The first symptom of pregnancy to appear is missing a period. All other symptoms; i.e. nausea & vomiting, frequency of urination and the breast symptoms. Cramping in the abdomen is not a symptom of pregnancy. So your history cannot be attributed to pregnancy.

The sharp pain in abdomen associated with nausea after intercourse denotes that in the pelvis, there is some swelling. These symptoms could be due to:
1. Ovaries fallen back into the space between uterus and rectum getting disturbed during intercourse. Ovary is a very tender organ.
2. Uterus having swelling and hence painful during intercourse. It usually happens due to infection.
3. Pregnancy outside the uterine cavity - mostly in the tube causing pain and may be bleeding inside the abdomen. This can happen even before the period is missed. This is a very serious condition and needs urgent attention.

Please report to your Gynaecologist for correct diagnosis and the due treatment.
