Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello,, I have this burning sharp pain in my left thigh. It is very numb, but yet it has this persisting pain that shoot down my leg like labor pains. while standing at work it feels as if there is warm water running down my leg. Went to see my family doctor and was told to stretch it out 3 times daily for 3 weeks, but I only made it two weeks. the pain was getting worse. Just went back to the doctor on 4/2016 and was given a steroid in my groin area. I though is was better, but once the numbness wore off that evening the pain was back with a vengeance.
This could be pain of nerve impingement. You need to get get an appointment with the neurosurgeon and get MRI of the lumbar spine done. The steroid shot may help you as it will decrease the swelling and nerve compression will be less.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
