What Causes Sharp Pain And Tightness On Left-sided Chest Below The Collar Bone?

Good evening, I am an athletic 23 yo male with T1D. Last night I decided to go for a run around a local track. I experienced a sharp/tight pain in the left side of my chest left of the sternum and just below the collar bone. I only experience this moderate discomfort when I take deep breaths. It is relieved when I take a deep breath but bend my torso down to my knees. Should I be concerned? Connor

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Possibility of musculoskeletal pain is more because your chest pain is associated with bending and rib movements while breathing.
But better to rule out cardiac pain first because you are having left sided chest discomfort.
So get done ecg and 2d echo. If both are normal then no need to worry for heart diseases.
Apply warm water pad on affected areas.
Take simple painkiller like ibuprofen.
Avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
