Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have sharp pain behind my left knee, slightly to the left when I bend it slightly. I seems to be catching and pops. It does not hurt when I keep it straight. It came on quickly. I run every day, 4 miles and have never had any prior knee problems.
I think this may be osteoarthritis of the knee. An x-ray or MRI of the knee joint can be done. Maybe you should use pain relievers and oral corticosteroids.
Also, corticosteroid injections and hyaluronic acid Injections in the joint can help it to function properly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
