What Causes Sharp Pain Between Bottom Of Rib Cage And Upper Hip?

hi i had just the other night a sharp pain between bottom of rib cage and upper hip it took my breath away for a few seconds only happened once and i now today have noticed a slight pressure on left flank toward belly button along with very minute dull ache and sometimes my back on that side hurts when i a take a dep breath. I have had bad bouts of constipation and taking stool softners for three days now i feel the pressure mostly and the ache when standing or sitting what could it be i thought it was a nerve dying but the dull pain is from hip to ribs and to belly button and sometimes along that side of back on left side but mostly preasure.

Hi. This can be due to a problem with kidney on that side. An Ultrasonography of abdomen would diagnose for sure. The constipation can be secondary to this problem. Go for blood and urine tests also.
