What Causes Sharp Pain In Chest After Lifting Heavy Things?
when I lift something that s just a little bit heavy I get a sharp pain on left side of chest just above the nipple it go`s away after a minute or two of resting, it`s been doing this for about a month male 60 years old and a smoker, doesn t hurt at any other time other than straining, even just a little
Here as you are smoker cardiac cause(as pain relieved by rest) and respiratory cause like restrictive or obstructive disease ruled out ...
Investigation needed with .... 1.EKG 2.Blood pressure measurement 3.Auscultation 4.Chest x ray 5.Spirometry (if needed)
If no significant cause found than dont worry ... It could be simple musculoskeletal pain ... For which NSAIDs group of drug like ibuprofen given... Warm compress applied .. Avoid strenous work as it can aggravate your pain... Take rest
Advise : Consult pulmonologist
