What Causes Sharp Pain In Lower Left Abdomen In Spite Of Taking Naproxen?

I have a stabbing pain in my lower left abdomen that started suddenly a few hours ago with a small, sharp, focused pain when I moved but has been steadily worsening until it now radiates throughout my left side, even when I m sitting still, and the pain has worsened. I took a naproxen sodium pill, to no effect. I am an otherwise healthy 21-year-old woman, and I am currently neither menstruating or ovulating, and am not sexually active. What could this pain be, and what should I do about it? Is it serious enough that I should go to a doctor? I should add that I am currently traveling overseas and obtaining medical help may be challenging, so I want to know if this is potentially serious.

Hello There

After going through your medical query I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that naproxen induced gastritis is a cause of your stomach pain. You can take antacid to relief your symptoms.

Hopefully this information will guide you properly.

Kind Regards
Dr Bhanu Partap
