What Causes Sharp Pain In Lower Left Quadrant?

Ok, I think I know the answer to my question but is always good to have another opinion. Three days maybe for I noticed a sharp pain in my lower left quadrant. Right next to my bladder. I thought it was my chronic cystitis from my MS but on coughing I can feel the bulge about 2.5cmX3cm maybe slightly larger. The pain has been intensifying over time. Exquisitely painful on palpation. There is no comfortable position they all cause pain, it is unrelenting and seems to increase with time.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for asking at HCM.
I carefully read your question and understand your concern.
By what you explain a painful lump in the left lower abdominal quadrant, next to the urinary bladder and that bulges with cough, the most likely diagnosis and the first thing that comes to mind is hernia.
It is very important to urgently go and see a doctor, if hernia is painful it means you are at risk of bowel necrosis and might need quick hernia repair surgery.
A visit first will help the doctor understand how likely is it that you are having a Hernia. he will examine you lying and standing, at rest and on coughing and see if the lump bulges or not.
Than the doctor might ask for an abdominal ultrasound in case he has high suspicion of hernia and this will say for sure if you have hernia or not.
According to the findings the doctor might decide on blood tests that might be needed also.
Hope this is helpful and answers to your question
