What Causes Sharp Pain In Rhomboid Muscles?

I AM 27 YRS OLD MALE.WHEN I AM SWALLOWING SOMETHING A SHARP PAIN OCCURS IN RHOMBOID MUSCLES AREA.ALSO WHEN I STRTCHE MY NECK OR PRESS MY THROAT AREA PAIN OCCURS NEAR SHOULDER BLADE AREA.THIS PROBLEM IS HAPPENING WITH ME FOR LAST 1 MONTHBUT FROM LAST THREE DAYS IT HAS INCREASED A LOT.NOT ABLETO EAT FOOD OR SLEEP PROPERLY.

Hi.

I have gone through your query. Based on the symptoms you have mentioned, it seems like you have gastric ulcer or some gastric issue. This can cause a burning pain that radiates to the back.

USually, the following can help with this. -
Taking a bland diet. One example is the BRAT diet which contains bananas, rice , applesauce, and toast
Drinking lots of water
Drinking cold milk
Avoiding oily and spicy foods
avoiding excessive coffee

In case this does not help, you would need to see a doctor to confirm the cause. The doctor may order a 24 hour manometry and this can help to confirm the peptic ulcer. Once confirmed, the doctor may start triple therapy to help with treatment.
