What Causes Sharp Pain In Ribcage Along With Difficulty In Breathing?
I was reaching into the bottom of our wheelie bin a few days ago when I felt a sharp pain in the ribcage where it was pressing on the bin edge.was painful afterwards but seemed to be getting better until yesterday evening when I sneezed. The pain in that area was really uncomfortable , hurt when I breathed in. Couldn t get comfortable in bed and couldnt sleep with discomfort even with painkillers. When I got up during the night to use the toilet felt like I was going to pass out . Still uncomfortable today
The first time there wa some amount of pressure on the region could have compressed a nerve in the region causing the pain and discomfort. On sneezing the diaphragm and lungs expand causing a lot of pressure on the nerves around. When you sneezed this explosive sneeze ciuld have put excessive pressure on the nerve that was already sensitive due to the previous event resulting in the discomfort you are experiencing.
In my opinion there is nothing serious to worry about, go about a warm application over the region for a few days and the pain management medications as well (with an anti-inflammatory effect as well) and you should be fine in a few days time. Visit your doctor if your symptoms dont at least start subsiding in a weeks time.
Best wishes.
