What Causes Sharp Pain In Right Side Of Head And Behind Ear?

I am having a shooting pain in the right side of my head and behind my ear I feel it comes from my neck and goes up and down to my upper back. yesterday I felt a strong ear ache and sore throat but today is only the pain in the back of my ear, back neck and I can even touch my hair it feels like I have a bruise. The pain comes and goes as I move my head.

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have sharp pain in right side of head and behind ear . Well there can be many reasons for symptome you mention in query like migraine , ear infection, occipital neuralgia , cervical spondolysis , Glossopharyngeal Neuralgia and bell's palsy . I would suggest you to consult neurologist for proper examination . Doctor may order blood tests , omputerized tomography (CT) scan , magnetic resonance imaging and spinal tap . Doctor may prescribe medicine like NSAIDs , triptans , ergots , anti-nausea medications , opioid medicationsAND G lucocorticoids like prednisone . Doctor may also recommend surgery in case of tumor like condition .Doctor may also refer you to orthopedic surgeon . For now take ibuprofen or acetaminophne and do meditation and yoga .
