Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Dr. Rynne, thank you for taking your time to answer my question. My symptom started this morning. Located Lower right quad. I have an incision there from 2 c-sections. Sharp pain that woke me up - like someone pinched me really hard. There is a lump there...never felt it until last night s sharp pain. I will go get it checked out - after holiday weekend. What kind of MD do you think I should go see- OB/Gyn, family MD, internal med or should I go to ER. I feel ER is not the route right now.
Right lower quadrant pain can be due to multiple reasons. The most common causes being Appendicitis or Ovarian Torsion which would need immediate attention and treatment.
To get yourself evaluated and not to miss the diagnosis the best option would be to visit the nearest ER where they can screen you for severe causes and also ensure proper and timely referral.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Kalpajit Banik, Emergency Medicine Specialist
