Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hello. about 2 months ago i very suddenly started having this strange rather sharp pain in my left foot. its most on the top portion and on the far left side away from my arch. it feels very similar to having a thick rubber band wrapped tightly around my foot and squeezing. it goes away after a few painful steps and seems to get worse again if i take my weight off my foot for longer then 10 minutes. there is no bruising or marks, and i dont remember injuring it previously. the only difference of that day was my shoe did not seem to be tied correctly and i thought maybe i had just tied it too tightly against my foot. the pain started that day and has yet to go away.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Based on the description of your problem, it appears that you seem to be having 'plantar fasciitis'. This could have happened due to stretching or tightness in the ligaments concerned with arch of the foot. Kindly do the following to overcome it. 1. Take analgesic medication like Tablet. Diclofenac with Paracetamol combination twice daily after food. 2. Take Physiotherapyrehabilitation after 2 weeks of medication. 3. Use soft sole shoes and give soft ankle support when you wear the shoes. 4. Do foot stretching manuver by keeping it in warm salt water twice everyday. 5. Avoid jogging and playing outdoor games for 3 to 4 weeks. Gradually, you should be able to get better. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best. Regards, Dr. Ashakiran.S., MBBS., MD.
