Hello there. Welcome to HealthcareMagic.
The pain in the left side of the abdomen could be because of many reasons including kidney stones ,inflammation of pancreas (
pancreatitis ),inflammation of small bowel (
diverticulitis),inflammation of large bowel (colitis),presence of a small hernia which is protrusion of abdominal content through natural openings in the abdominal wall, rupture of small
ovarian cyst and it could just be a gastritis which is inflammation of the stomach, which are the common causes.
It cant be due to inflammation of appendix as it is situated in the right.
Urinary tract infections (UTI) mostly present with fever and burning micturition but may occasionally cause loin pain.
In your case it resembles mostly to a kidney stone or if you are having history of alcoholism or
gall bladder stones it could also be pancreatitis .However it is impossible to come to a diagnosis just with the history you have mentioned.
I suggest you to get an
ultra sound scan done which will give us a clue to your condition and help us regarding further proceedings. Till then I advice
1)Drink plenty of water
2)avoid junk food
3)tablet tramadol 100mg thrice a day
4)tablet
ondansetron 4mg three times a day
Both for pain and nausea respectively. Remember these medications are for temporary relief only and the most appropriate medicine could be selected only after investigations. Hope that answers the question.
Thank you on behalf of the whole HCM team.
